What
about security? |
OfficeLink IT specialise in organising ADSL Satellite installations,
and sharing this type of service between several linked users. A
shared Satellite connection can be ‘open’ - with all
subscribers linked together in one large, shared Local Area Network
(LAN), or ‘closed,’ with each customer only able to
view the Internet, but unable to transfer any files between other
subscriber computer systems.
Who
might benefit from a shared satellite service? |
Any group of businesses or individuals based in a rural location,
who would like to experience the advantages of Broadband Internet
access, may benefit from a Satellite sharing facility.
For example, 10 small companies based on a rural business park,
may all require fast access to the Internet. Although ISDN may be
their existing method of access, Satellite sharing could provide
a cost effective, ‘always on’ alternative. Each company
could have a small firewall router installed for security. One of
the premises would also have the satellite dish and corresponding
equipment installed.
A number of domestic users in a rural village could also be keen
to get Broadband Internet access. They could collaborate and set
up their own service using a shared Satellite connection. The numbers
involved would help them to share the cost.
How
much would it cost? |
10 small businesses located within a rural business park, and with
no access to a BT ADSL exchange, could install our single Satellite
system, and share the overall subscription cost between each business.
The cost of this could be extremely competitive. If, for example,
the monthly system rental fee was £99, then the cost per subscriber
would be just over £12.50 per month. Details
of our Satellite pricing structures.
Your business may also be entitled to a grant to support the cost
of installation. Contact
